Firefighters responded to the rooftop of a smoking Downtown Atlanta high-rise at round midday on Wednesday.

Thick smoke was seen from the roof of a constructing off of Ted Turner Drive. The street was closed between Marietta and Luckie streets.

Atlanta fireplace rescue obtained a report of a development fireplace at round 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters noticed heavy smoke from the roof. 

Development crews and occupants have been in a position to exit the constructing safely, based on Asst. Hearth Chief Greg Grey. Grey informed FOX 5 they did not have an actual variety of folks inside, however estimated 20 to 30 folks evacuated the 30-story constructing.

The fireplace was remoted to the rooftop.

SKYFOX captured footage of fireside crews on the roof trying to quell the smoke at round 12:42 p.m. Firefighters have been sifting via charred supplies.

The smoke was decreased and flames seemed to be extinguished earlier than 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
