COVAX to Send Mexico 10 Million COVID Shots by Sept. 30, Says Official

The United Nations-backed COVAX vaccine program will ship 10 million doses of Pfizer PFE.N/BioNTech 22UAy.DE COVID-19 pictures for kids to Mexico by the tip of September, a senior Mexican official introduced Tuesday.

The confirmed dates for the pictures’ supply comes every week after President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador stated he would complain to the United Nations in regards to the delayed cargo of vaccines the federal government had requested.

Of the ten million doses en route, 8.86 million can be used to finish the two-dose regime for kids who’ve already obtained one dose, and one other 1.14 million doses will present a whole routine for 571,200 kids, Mexico’s coronavirus czar Hugo Lopez-Gatell stated at a daily information convention.

The doses will arrive in three shipments, with the primary batch arriving between Sept. 12-16, the second Sept. 18-23, and the third Sept. 26-30, Lopez-Gatell stated.

Final week, Lopez Obrador stated Mexico was owed $75 million after it obtained lower than half the 52 million vaccine doses it was allotted underneath the COVAX program.

The declaration prompted affirmation from The World Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), which backs COVAX together with the World Well being Group, that a proposal to ship pediatric vaccines to Mexico was accepted and that the doses had been able to be shipped.
