SUMMERFIELD, Fla. — A 14-year-old woman brought on a stir at a north Florida center faculty when she handed out greater than $10,000 that she is accused of stealing from her grandmother, officers stated.
Marion County deputies responded to Lake Weir Center College in Summerfield on Thursday after experiences {that a} scholar was giving classmates tons of of {dollars} every, in line with an arrest report. Summerfield is about 60 miles northwest of Orlando.
College officers performed a search of the woman’s backpack and located about $2,500, deputies stated. The woman stated she had been given the cash by an unknown former scholar who needed the cash disseminated. It was later decided that the woman had damaged into her grandmother’s dwelling protected and stolen about $13,500 of the lady’s life financial savings, investigators stated.
The arrest report doesn’t say why the woman allegedly took the cash or why she gave it away to her classmates.
By Friday, officers had recovered about $700 of the cash that had been given to different college students. That cash and the $2,500 recovered from the woman’s backpack had been returned to the grandmother.
The woman is dealing with a grand theft cost.
