WASHINGTON — A video recorded by a person charged in reference to the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol reveals rioters inside Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s workplace in the course of the rebel.
The video, proven to jurors on the trial of Riley Williams, was shot by Kevin Lyons, one other Jan. 6 defendant who faces six expenses in reference to the Capitol assault in 2021 and is about to go to trial in February. It was launched to the media following a request by NBC Information.
Within the video, rioters might be heard chanting, “Naaaancy, Naaaancy, Naaaancy” as they enter the speaker’s suite, the place staffers had been huddled in a convention room, barricading themselves from the mob.
Williams — a devotee of Nick Fuentes and a far-right, white nationalist motion she is affiliated with referred to as the “Groypers” — has been charged with aiding and abetting the theft of a laptop computer that Pelosi, D-Calif., used for Zoom conferences. Jurors started deliberating Wednesday afternoon.
The laptop computer was already gone by the point Lyons entered the convention room, the video reveals. Lyons then enters an adjourning room the place a mirror had been smashed.
The video options Elijah Schaffer, a former worker of Glenn Beck’s conservative media outlet The Blaze, who posted on social media in the course of the riot that he was inside Pelosi’s workplace and “with the hundreds of revolutionaries who’ve stormed” the Capitol.
About 900 defendants have been charged in reference to the Capitol assault, and greater than 440 have pleaded responsible to numerous expenses.
