Ted Cruz hit with beer during Astros World Series parade in Houston; man arrested

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was hit with a beer can throughout Monday’s World Sequence victory parade for the Houston Astros and an arrest was made, police mentioned.

Cruz was on a float in Houston on the 2400 block of Smith Avenue when the can was thrown, the Houston Police Division tweeted.

“The beer can struck the Senator within the chest/neck space,” police mentioned, including that he was not injured.

In video of the incident posted to social media, boos may very well be heard coming from the parade crowd as Cruz was driving by, standing at the back of a navy type car. A can is seen hurling in the direction of the senator’s head and folks on the car try to protect him from the projectile.
